Holy Holy
What does the word ‘Holy’ mean to you? Free from sin? Perfect? The prophet Isaiah saw a vision of seraphs (Heavenly beings) calling out to each other, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty”(Isaiah 6:3). Thousands of years later John, one of Jesus’ apostles, experienced the same vision(Rev 4:8). There is no doubt. God the almighty Father is Holy. Moreover God’s holiness expressed itself in human form in the person of His son Jesus who lived a perfect sinless life on Earth.
Is it absurd to suggest that you or I could be holy? Surely we could never consider ourselves perfect and without sin.
But we can. Through the miracle of God’s grace and the forgiveness won through Jesus’ death and resurrection, our sin has been and is continually washed away. In a nutshell, Jesus took our sins and we received His holiness. When God looks at us he doesn’t see the sinful truth of our human nature. He sees His Son Jesus, the spotless lamb, sacrificed for us.
Nevertheless a Christian’s life is not a life of lazy grace-receiving. God implores us in His Word to strive each day to be holy in all we do and say and think.

Rom 8:1-4, Rom 6:20-23, Rev 4:8.
Chorus
Holy Holy, Holy Holy, Holy Holy Holy, Holy Holy.
Holy Holy, Holy Holy, Holy Holy Holy, Holy Holy.
If you see a speck in your brother’s eye
Don’t criticise, don’t criticise
Until you’ve taken the log out of your own eye.
How can you see to help your brother out
If you’re blinded by a log. There’s no doubt
You’ve got to take that log out of your own eye.
You’ve got to go to the Lord, you’ve got to go to Him
Confess your guilt, confess your sin
Start up your life again with the Lord’s blessing.
Chorus
If you see a speck in your brother’s eye
Don’t criticise, don’t criticise
Until you’ve taken the log out of your own eye.
How can you see to help your brother out
If you’re blinded by a log. There’s no doubt
You’ve got to take that log out of your own eye.
If you come to God with an open heart
If you’re sorry for your sins and want to make a new start
He will forgive you and make you holy.
Chorus
